In a 5-6 quart slow cooker, add the beans, diced onion, carrots, celery, garlic, thyme, bay leaf, ham and chicken broth. Stir in the tomatoes, and add salt and pepper to taste. Cook on HIGH for 5 hours or LOW for 8 hours, or until beans are tender.
