Here are some basic differences: Operating Frequency: T2 is 13 kHz and the Omega 8000 is 7.8 kHz. If you like your F5 laid back style, you might not mesh with the F44. Mine was an early model though and maybe Fisher did something about the clipping tones and false signals since then but it annoyed the heck out of me.
